Hi, I'm Ayla, founder of Wagtail Productions. Before establishing Wagtail, I spent years honing my skills in camera departments within the film and TV industry. And before that, I studied photography and started using a dark room at 15 years old. So it's safe to say that my passion for creating high-end bespoke wedding films is deeply intertwined with my love for photography and my background in film and television. My unique approach—cinematic, bespoke, and unobtrusive—is what sets Wagtail apart.
My second greatest (and perhaps most unusual) talent is making the perfect playlist for someone. Before AI entered the scene, it was a skill that I used to bring joy to people, which requires trying on their taste and sense of self. It’s this same observational connection that affords me my greatest talent: making films that feel true to the individual couple. This is why couples often say they feel like they know the people in the films I make, even crying at the weddings of strangers. It’s why, after receiving their film, they tell me it’s exactly how they remember their day but with extra special moments of their guests that they missed. That’s the essence of Wagtail—I want you to feel truly seen, in the best way, when you watch your film and view your photos.

Yes but it requires more than one person to cover both formats, to a high standard. Unless we have discussed otherwise, I, Ayla, am creatively and practically involved in both, on the day and in the edit afterwards. For key moments, such as the walk down the aisle, I will direct members of my team to work alongside me to cover the angles and formats needed.

Although I work extremely harmoniously with other wedding suppliers, having a team means good communication and alliance between all parties is a given. It also means that we can help each other out more. For example, if you book a package with one videographer and one photographer you are essentially getting 1.5 photographers, as I will take photos after my video shots should my photographer be in another area of the wedding, giving you that extra coverage.
